Challenge
Chocolate Stories wanted to elevate their winter edition into a distinctive corporate gift. The ambition was to create something more than a traditional chocolate box — a refined experience connected to their craft and to Deventer, the historic City of Books.
At the same time, the design needed to remain mailbox‑ready and logistically efficient, enabling easy distribution as a corporate gifting product.
Strategy
Yellow Dress positioned the product not as confectionery, but as a published story.
By conceptually uniting content and packaging, we created a format where the brand narrative and functional packaging intelligence reinforce each other. The project focused on a single‑SKU gifting concept designed to maximise perceived value within a compact format.
Design
The packaging was designed as a hardcover book structure, shifting the product from consumable to collectible.
Gold foil, blind embossing and rich illustrations subtly reference Deventer and the winter landscape along the IJssel. Inside the book structure, a bespoke construction protects the pralines while maintaining a slim format suitable for postal delivery.
The result is a premium gifting object that combines storytelling, craft and practical functionality.
Impact
The Winter Express transforms seasonal gifting into a tangible brand moment.
The project demonstrates how private brand packaging design can elevate a single product into a meaningful brand experience, where emotion, craftsmanship and practicality coexist.
